Karisa Magliozzi has always been surrounded by books. Her family often said she never went anywhere without one, and she grew up admiring authors such as Tamora Pierce, Clive Cussler, and Michelle Moran from an early age. She began writing as a teenager, but it wasn’t until her thirties that she felt inspired to fully develop her own stories. Drawing from elements of her family history and a touch of magic, she created Guardians of Avalon.

Beyond writing, Karisa is an avid reader who also enjoys cooking, horseback riding, and anything Disney-related. She volunteers her time in costume, visiting children in hospitals as beloved characters to bring encouragement, joy, and gifts. She also enjoys attending Renaissance festivals and comic conventions, embracing immersive storytelling in all its forms.

She lives in Arizona with her husband (who is a competitive bodybuilder), her incredible and amazing special-needs son, two tuxedo cats, and a corgi.
